SYNOPSIS

Samuel Noble’s father had been tried and executed as a witch, but thirty years later he is out to reclaim his rightful heritage. However, King Charles I drives a hard bargain and insists that he takes a wife of his choosing.  Temperance Warren is the illegitamate daughter of an earl, with no prospects and no future. When her father approaches the king to find a husband for her, a match is made. But can love bloosom in these unlikely circumstances.

WHY I LOVED NARRATING THIS AUDIOBOOK

This historical romance is full of intrigue and uncertainty. The characters know they are taking risks, but also feel they have little to lose. There is a frisson and fragility in the writing which plays with the emotions of the listener and keeps you wondering how this is going to turn out.  At one hour and twenty minutes, it’s a good bite of a story to keep you entertained.
